Sorry if this gets a bit mushy and has nothing to do with New Zealand...
I haven’t got much to say about today, it was a pretty average Thursday. I handed in the lab that was due today and finished the lab due next week today in class, so I have a few weeks off of assignments due so I can start my International Relations essay which is due in a few weeks and take some time to go over past lectures.
I took the night to relax. I read some of my book and even managed to watch Rudolph’s Shiny New Year- yes, the clay-mation movie from a long time ago. Christmas is by far my favorite time of the year, so it’s never out of place for me to watch a Christmas show. I love helping my mom in the kitchen, seeing everyone so cheerful in the middle of winter, and making the house all warm and festive. It makes me think about how someday, I’ll be the one to host the holidays.
Today is more of a post about what I’ve been thinking about tonight- family. I finally had some time where I wasn’t traveling and I didn’t have anything due, so I got to thinking about all of the relatives in my life. Family truly is the one thing that at the end of the day, you know will be there, to love and support you. I know you can’t pick your relatives, but I’m really glad I ended up with the ones I have. I really look forward to letters in the mail, emails, and occasional calls and when I talk to my parents they keep me updated on what’s going on with everyone. I’m so glad everyone is happy and healthy. Thank you Mom, Dad, Josh (and Jess!), Grandma Lola, Uncle Steven, Laurie, Heather, Nanna, Poppy, Uncle BJ, Grandma Marge, Bob, all of my great aunts and uncles on both sides of the family, extended family… I truly wouldn’t be the person I am without your love and support. I’ve appreciated you guys so much in my life, but being around the world makes me truly grateful to have you guys to come home to, and I hope I see a lot of you when I do come home!
For this reason I’ve decided to dedicate my blog, all 4+ months of it, to you guys.
