Poor Knights Day 2

So today we dove the Poor Knights Islands with Dive! Tutukaka again. It was a great day, althought it was a bit cloudy. We dove Cave Bay, but ironically didn't go inside any caves. It was great because there was a lot of fish life to see. Then, we dove Blue Mao Mao Arch- potentially my favorite place that I've ever dove. There weren't as many fish as last time but when we got out of the cave there were tons of stingrays to play with. Also, I found out you can tickle a scorpionfish's (the really camouflage ones that blend in with the rocks) chin and they perk up and open their mouth. They don't think you can see them so they look really surprised when you touch them. I also saw our dive guide going up to stingrays and tickling them, apparently if you come up to them from the front or the side you can touch them, but I think I'll leave that to the professionals.

Tonight we're heading up to the Bay of Islands place called the Cowshed Backpacker's, because tomorrow we're diving the wreck of the Canterbury (I've dove it once before) and then another spot up there. My friend Katie is joining us (we're picking her up in Whangarei tonight) and then a friend I met on the boat, a german guy named Jan (pronounced Yan) is coming too-- I convinced him to join us on the boat!). It's so fun to make friends as we go along.

It might be a few more days until I get internet again, so I'll post again as soon as I can!!
