Here's some pictures from my travels (unfortunately the blog won't let me save them in the order that I posted them, so the pictures don't match up with the descriptions but you can figure it out):
The first picture is of a "donut" from a famous bakery called Osler's.
The next picture is of me and Flora in front of our awesome van in front of Anisha's house!
Next is the famous museum of New Zealand, called Te Papa.
Next is the giant squid that they have at the museum- SO COOL!
Then is Flora, Njeri, me and Dave at Te Papa in front of a Maori carving.
Then there's a picture of me in front of one of the Poor Knights arches.
Today we saw dolphins on our dive trip, contrary to when we went to swim with dolphins and didn't see a single one!
The next picture is of a clown nudibranch- so amazing because I've never seen one before.
Next is a starfish-- I just thought it was a cool picture.
Then there's a picture of the eagle ray we saw! I spotted it!
Then there's a grey moray picture- pretty cool because they hang out in the open not in caves like the other morays often do.
Next is a blue and yellow nudibranch which I thought was pretty cool.
In Riko Riko cave, apparently a sperm whale swam into it, bumped into the back and died. There's still a huge jawbone (maybe 7 feet long) and a couple of vertebra bouncing around the cave so we picked them up and played with them. It's so amazing to see such a small part of such a huge, incredible animal.
The last picture I'm putting up this round is a view out of Riko Riko cave underwater. It's so cool to see all of the fish life and how huge the cave really is.
Not sure when I'll have internet again... hopefully tomorrow night at the Cowshed Backpacker's lodge which is essentially we're staying in someone's house where they've added on a couple of rooms with bunk bed
s for people to sleep. I'm currently in a restaurant where I decided I could buy dinner here just so that I could put up a few pictures, download a few lectures that I need for my class, email my classmates and ask them to send me the files that I need for my labs, etc.
Going diving at the Poor Knights again tomorrow!!
